Sending a parcel with ELTA

With more than 1,200 service points throughout Greece, ELTA Courier provides courier services based on the geographical coverage and reliability of its network. ELTA Courier is one of the most recognizable choices in the postal services sector.

Buyer instructions

  1. For shipments within Greece :
    • When completing your purchase, select ELTA Courier as the delivery method to the address of your choice.
    • In case the address is located in a remote area outside the ELTA Courier network, you will be notified to pick up your shipment from the nearest ELTA Post Office .
  2. For shipments from Greece to Cyprus or Bulgaria :
    • If the seller is located in Greece and the buyer is in Cyprus or Bulgaria, the option to choose during checkout will be ELTA Post Office .
    • Delivery will be made through the postal network of the destination country, in accordance with current regulations.

Seller instructions

After the buyer completes payment for the item and shipping costs, the seller is automatically notified to proceed with creating the label and shipping the package. 

  1. For shipments within Greece

Within the transaction, select “Instructions & Shipping” to begin the process.  

  •  After you are taken to the label creation process, you will need to fill in a return address if applicable.
  • The shipping label will be created and sent to your email.

Important: The transaction is completed only with the tracking code provided by Vendora. No other tag should be used. 

  •  As with any shipment, keep a photo or video of the contents of the package and pack it carefully, always adding an extra layer of protection, especially for fragile items.
  • Print and stick the label you received and deliver your package to the nearest ELTA Courier store. In case you are in a remote area and there is no ELTA Courier in your area, use the shipping label and deliver the package exceptionally to an ELTA Post Office.

2. For shipments from Greece to Cyprus or Bulgaria :

Important: Shipments abroad (Cyprus or Bulgaria) are made via ELTA Post and not via ELTA Courier, as the service is not integrated. The instructions below explain the process step by step:

  1. Create a shipping label through the ELTA Post Office Web labeling application , selecting the 800 Parcel A service. You can find the form here .
  1. Deliver the package to an ELTA Post office and pay for the shipment. The shipping costs already prepaid by the buyer will be credited to your account after the transaction is completed.
  2. Keep the receipt containing the tracking number. After the package is delivered to ELTA Post Office, you will need to return to the transaction to enter the tracking number. If this is not done in time, the transaction may be automatically canceled. 

Important for both cases: The weight of the package in the ad must be accurate (the greater of the actual and volumetric weight), so that shipping costs can be calculated correctly. The volumetric weight is calculated according to IATA regulations as (Length x Width x Height in centimeters/5,000). Any difference between the declared weight and the shipping weight will be borne by the sender. To avoid differences in shipping prices, easily calculate the volumetric weight of your package.

*To ensure accurate shipping pricing and prevent delivery issues, you are required to provide the correct parcel weight and size when creating your listing and, in some cases, exact dimensions before shipment. Courier companies calculate shipping based on either actual or volumetric weight (whichever is higher), according to their own policies.

Compensation, Damage & Losses (ELTA Courier – Domestic Shipments in Greece)

In case of damage or loss related to a domestic shipment within Greece sent via ELTA Courier, the seller, as the owner of the item, must first contact Vendora Support, who will guide them through the process of submitting a compensation claim to ELTA Courier*.

It is recommended to contact Vendora Support within 3 days of receiving the damaged item.

To assess the claim, the seller will be required to provide:

  • the shipment tracking number
  • photos and/or videos of the packaging
  • photos and/or videos showing the condition of the item upon delivery

* Each domestic shipment within Greece via ELTA Courier is insured against damage or loss up to €50.00 for documents and up to €100.00 for parcels.
