What is SCA?
SCA = Strong Customer Authentication. It is an EU requirement (PSD2) that makes payments more secure by asking you to confirm your identity with two of the following:
- Something you know (e.g. password, PIN)
- Something you have (e.g. mobile phone, token)
- Something that you are (e.g. fingerprint, Face ID)
Why am I seeing this on Vendora?
Mangopay, our payment provider, may ask you to complete SCA when you use Vendora Wallet . This is required by European regulations to protect your money.
How to set up SCA
When you first use your Vendora Wallet , you will be taken to Mangopay ‘s secure page to complete a quick setup.
Follow the steps that appear on your screen:
- Click “Continue to Mangopay” .
You will be automatically transferred to Mangopay’s secure environment. - Choose a security method:
- Use a passkey or trusted device (recommended – use Face ID, fingerprint, or screen passcode) .
- Or skip the passkey and verify via email, PIN, and phone number .
- Confirm your email.
Enter and verify the email you have associated with Vendora. - Create a 6-digit PIN code.
This code will be used for future verifications (e.g. when confirming a payment). - Add your mobile number.
You will receive one-time codes via SMS for verification, if you don’t use a passkey. - You approve and complete the verification.
When the process is finished, you will see a confirmation message – SCA setup is complete. - Back to Vendora.
You can now use your wallet securely.
If you forget the passkey
You can verify your identity using:
- Your email
- The 6-digit PIN you created
- A one-time code (SMS) on your mobile phone
Why is the rest of my wallet dull?
If you haven’t set up SCA yet, you’ll need to do so first.
If you see your Vendora Wallet balance dim, don’t worry – it just needs a quick security check .
For your protection, Mangopay requires Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) verification every 180 days .
Simply tap on your Wallet balance and re-verify with your passkey.
Once the process is complete, your balance will appear and your wallet will be fully available again.
* Your funds are not affected – they remain safe in your account.
It is just a standard security step to ensure that your funds remain protected.
When will I need to do this?
Mangopay may ask you to perform the SCA process for certain actions related to your Wallet, such as when you make a purchase or when you receive money.
- The setup is done once : you will only need to set the verification method the first time.
- Identification verification may be repeated : for some transactions (e.g. new payment or large amount) you may be asked to confirm again, as required by the regulation.
- It’s safe : the process is handled exclusively by Mangopay, a licensed European payment institution. Vendora does not access or store your sensitive data.
* If you are asked to verify your identity, simply follow the on-screen steps. Once completed, you can continue using Vendora Wallet without any problems.
How does it affect me as a Vendora user?
- If you’re a buyer: You may be asked to set up SCA once and then reconfirm it for some purchases.
- If you are a seller: You may be asked to set up SCA once and then confirm it again when using Vendora Wallet.
After initial setup, these authentication confirmations are quick and easy for certain actions related to your Wallet.
